LA NOSTRA STORIA — OUR STORY

Owners of Italian restaurant in Salt Lake City, Amy and Marco Stevanoni

It all began one night in an Italian restaurant in 2001

A chance meeting between Amy and Marco developed into, at first, long-distance love, and soon afterward, marriage and family — with many trips to their second home, Italy, along the way. Now, Amy and Marco are inviting discerning diners in Salt Lake City to enjoy the kind of Northern Italian food the two have long shared with friends and family in their kitchen.

Born and raised in Verona, Italy, Marco is well known for both his love of his home country and his passionate commitment to classic Italian cuisine. He not only transports guests to Italy through food and wine, but also through rich stories of its origins, and his own.

Raised in Salt Lake City, Amy lived in bigger cities before her relationship with Marco brought new meaning to her childhood home. She brings to VENETO her long-time love of art and design, a career as a marketer, and a deep appreciation for all things Northern Italian. Amy is proud to share a new approach to Italian dining with the city where she and Marco met and now call home.

L'esperienza VENETO — The VENETO Experience

It’s not just the food on your plate or the wine in your glass that’s Italian. Of course our menu honors year-round classical favorites and seasonal specialties from the Veneto region, and our ingredients come from the finest local purveyors. Wine Spectator continuously recognizes our wine list as one of the best in the world, for its breadth, depth, and superior presentation. But it's the experience around those elements that really sets the scene.

Being at VENETO is like being a guest in Amy and Marco's home. It's a warm, inviting environment curated with one-of-a-kind antique European furniture and accessories, from the hundreds-year old Italian sofa in the dining room to the marble in the restrooms. Every item was chosen for its unique beauty and the story behind it. We want you comfortable, relaxed, and immersed in Italian culture as you ponder the menu, soak up new knowledge, and enjoy inspired conversation along the way.

Veneto, Italia

One of the 20 regions of Italy, Veneto extends from the Dolomites to the Adriatic Sea in the northeast. The seven provinces of the region are Belluno, Padua, Rovigo, Treviso, Venice, Verona, and Vicenza.

Veneto expresses an extraordinary variety in:

Its scenery From the stately Dolomites mountain range to the lush olive trees of Lago di Garda, Veneto has no shortage of natural beauty.

Its cuisine The food of the Veneto region often includes ingredients like rice, vegetables, and polenta prepared with meat, fish, or cheese. Other specialties include risotto, fish, game, and pandoro.

Its wines One of Italy’s most important wine-growing areas for wines such as Prosecco, Valpolicella, and Soave, Veneto produces more bottles of DOC wine than any other area in Italy. In fact, Amarone della Valpolicella from the hills around Verona is one of the most expensive red wines in the world.
